“You are what you eat” are excellent words to live by, especially when you’re trying to conceive a child. At RMACT, we believe that eating in a balanced way as part of a healthy lifestyle can help lay the groundwork for a successful pregnancy.
That’s why we provide nutritional support and resources for our patients as part of our comprehensive approach to infertility treatment. Our nutrition program helps our patients and their partners understand the relationship between dietary choices, weight management, lifestyle choices, health conditions, fertility and pregnancy.
The fertility nutrition program offers individual consultations that provide education and strategies on how to optimize health for conception and pregnancy, using foods to improve fertility. Jill Hickey, RDN, has a special interest in helping women with conditions that affect fertility – from insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), celiac disease, diabetes and pre diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome, eating disorders to underweight and overweight concerns – and harnessing the power of nutrition education to optimize health. Additionally, RMACT sponsors interactive nutrition seminars that are led by Jill, or one of RMACT's other clinical team members.
