"In the past, every June, we have focused our efforts on bringing you content related to Pride & Men’s Health Month. Although these campaigns are extremely important and close to our hearts- we, as well as many other companies around the world, paused our own content last week to listen and learn about a critical movement in our nation.
From a social media standpoint, we saw platforms leveraged in an entirely different way. The online community came together, and business and individuals alike used their platforms to share content related to the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Doing so created an opportunity to consider different viewpoints and allowed space for important messages to shine through.
In our field, we know that infertility affects black individuals and couples differently than their white counterparts; black women are almost twice as likely to experience infertility. Only 8% of black women seek medical help compared to 15% of white women. Our mission has always been to help build families and create pathways to this dream for everyone, which is why we feel we feel it’s important to highlight this disparity and continue to elevate this conversation.
One of our goals on these platforms has been to tell authentic stories -- our own, our patients, and our community partners. As we resume sharing our own content, we’re committed to sharing that of others as well. We welcome your feedback and advice, as well as your input on the content you’d like to see and voices you’d like to hear from on our pages. Together, we can help to amplify these important conversations and encourage each other to be the best versions of ourselves."
