Corona-this... COVID-that... It's on every email, every channel, and every meme. I actually have Cardi B saying "Coronaviiiirus" stuck in my head like it's its own song. Oh wait... it is.

The staff here at RMA of Connecticut has been working around the clock to provide you with honest care we can confidently get behind, making sure you and our staff remains safe. Like infertility, this horrible virus is not biased, and we all must watch out for each other. We hope you feel the giant hug we're safely and distantly extending to you, our RMA of Connecticut Family. 💓

With that said, here's what I'm thinking about for this month's newsletter...

Let's talk about ways to escape the pandemic while we #stayhome. 📖📺🔨

But listen, if you still want to get your COVID-19 fix, we have a page that we're constantly updating with, well, updates. 🏥Otherwise, today is about checking out, taking a deep breath, and sharing ways we're connecting with each other.

Sound like a plan? Cool. I thought you'd agree.

'veSo how do we escape the constant COVID-19 hum happening all around us? Well, from binge-watching Tiger King to taking free Yale courses, there are a plethora of ways you can check out from the madness.

How to Practice Escapism During the COVID-19 Crisis

• Virginia's 1:1 Pleasure/Production Ratio: It's simple. For every 1 episode of Schitt's Creek, The Good Place, or Love is Blind you watch (I know, I have a type), commit to 1 productive task. Write a thank you note, empty the dishwasher, or take the dogs for a walk... that sort of thing. 💻👍
• Tackle a DIY Project: I would never classify myself as a DIY-er, but my husband and I put up a wallpaper mural together that we were originally going to have someone else do for us. Look around - what's something you've been putting off that could use your attention? 🛠️💪
• Learn Something New: You've heard about the free online courses colleges, ivy leagues, and universities all over the country are offering, right? That's a good place to start. Also, here's a list of internet-able skills that would really impress your mom: needlepointing or knitting, replacing drywall (speaking from experience), abstract painting, and folding a fitted sheet. 😎🆒
• Take Care of a Plant: In the process of this quarantine, I've purchased multiple plants, reseeded our lawn, and properly stored herbs, keeping them alive for longer than my usual 24 hours. It feels grounding, refreshing, and calming to take care of something living other than yourself, especially during a time when everyone is so justly focused on that. 🌻🏡
• Download the apps TikTok and Houseparty: I'll see you in, like, 6 hours when you look up from your phone. 🎧📱

How are you "escaping"?

If we must talk COVID-19 though...

The team at RMA of Connecticut has STEPPED. UP. to help not only our local hospitals deal with the overflow, but to provide you with the best care they possibly can while keeping you, your family, and our employees safe. In my last newsletter, I provided you with several links to the amazing blogs we've been churning out for the community, but don't forget about the face-to-face contact you can still take have with the team! I've gathered all the ways to remain virtually connected to our staff and our community throughout this season of social distancing.

If you haven't noticed, we've taken all of our events virtual these days... support groups, fertile yoga, all of it. As a part of that initiative, I've been going live on our Instagram every Wednesday night at 7p with one of our providers. 👩‍💻👨‍💻

Do you have a fertility story you'd like to share publicly? 📣I would love to have you on our weekly IG Live to share your journey for the others in our community that need to see and hear about a relatable experience. As you know, no two stories in the infertility community are the same, but the mental toughness, physical devotion, and longing for family are all consistent traits we share.

Think about the way you feel when you feel validated, heard, and understood... you could bring that feeling to so many others yearning for that comfort, especially during this time of treatment cancellations and interruptions.

I'm pregnant! 👶

Like... really pregnant. 

36 weeks today, to be exact, and it's all thanks to the team here at RMA of Connecticut.

My husband and I have our own infertility journey, and RMA of Connecticut has helped us turn it into a story of pride and success. We've gone from our lowest lows to our most elated highs in a few years, and it's my deepest hope that you all feel this same turnaround.

You all know I'm an RMA of Connecticut fan girl, and we're 4 weeks shy of why.

I'm also sharing this because this may be my last email to our community for a few months. You'll still be receiving The Core Fertility Newsletter from an equally passionate member of the team, and I'll be on the sidelines cheering you on through this crazy year we're all having.
