I'm going to be honest with you - I started to write "Happy Holidays!" here, but I feel like it doesn't do my wishes justice (not to mention that you'll be reading that one-liner 79,294 times over the next month). I mean, c'mon! There's SO much to celebrate this month...
Back to my original point, it is the holiday season! βοΈβοΈ I wish you jolly goodness, no matter what you celebrate or how.
We launched our first podcast called Fertility U! ππ We put our blood, sweat, and tears into this and are so happy with the results. Have you had the chance to listen yet?
And my favorite thing to celebrate right now... you! ππ You guys have made The Core something special, and it's only been out for a month! So many of you responded directly to me, and we've had the best conversations. I am thankful for what we're building together.
So what's better than "Happy Holidays," y'all? I need help, because I feel like our happiness goes well beyond this blip on the calendar. Happy 2019? Happy everything? Happy you? Happy me?
OMG, guys. I got it.
ππHappy Core! ππ
That's it - that's how I truly feel. I want our Core community to be happy, healthy, and thankful and for us all to remember that there is a whole band of men and women surrounding us with strength (and cookies, if they're smart).
π Celebrate Good Times, Come On! π
(You just sang that in your head, didn't you? π)
So, how are you celebrating this December? RMA of Connecticut takes holiday cheer very seriously - our offices are decorated with snowflakes and trees, and everyone is prepping for the ugly holiday sweater competition! Keep an eye on our instagram to see the best-of-the-best...
Also, the men of RMA of Connecticut are celebrating their newly shaved faces now that Movember is over. π¨Did you get to see all their beards? Word on the street is that things got very itchy...
We also kicked off the season with a Fertile Festivus celebration for our patients - we had so much fun getting artsy and dishing out real-talk about how infertility feels during the holiday. Uh, news flash: it can suck. We had such a big success with the event that we plan to make it an annual get together!
π You HAVE to hear this... π
Core, we did BIG things in November...
We launched an entire podcast! I know, I know... I already mentioned it, but it's THAT awesome - it deserves a second plug. It's called Fertility U, and our third podcast is already in the works, hitting your ears at the end of December. This one will be so, so great, as it's an interview with an infertility patient. Someone just like the rest of us! Make sure you're following @fertilityu on Instagram so you get the latest updates.
Here's a little challenge I'm going to leave you with... what is one achievable goal you are going to set for yourself this coming new year?Keyword: achievable. Be realistic, specific, and thoughtful. You have the whooooole month of December to think this over, but come January 1, let's reset, recalibrate, and move forward.
Here, I'll start: My goal is to write down my experience with infertility. I'm talking pen-to-paper, page after page, all the pain, happiness, conversations, laughs with my husband, and fights with him, too (including that one time he turned a simple progesterone-in-oil shot into a geyser of blood)... all of it. I am seeking reflection and release, and in my world, writing is the way to do that.
What is your goal? How will it help you? I'd love to hear about it - just respond directly to this email and it'll come straight to me (and only me!).
Keep the good times rolling through this holiday season, and if you need to take a breather from the family gatherings, do it. You deserve it. Core, it's been a year of ups and downs for us all, so just remember I'm in your corner! Reply to this email if you want to say hello, share a laugh, or share your 2020 goal with me. Have a lovely December, and I'll talk to you first thing in the new year!
Sincerely,
Virginia
