Hi there,
I don't know who needs to hear this today, but...
TAKE. VALENTINE'S. DAY. OFF.
That's right. I think we take the big, red, chocolate-filled holiday off. Or, at least, redefine it for ourselves this year.
Here's what I'm thinking... we will not over-hype it, we will not over-think it, and we will not over-plan it. In fact, my plans will probably involve a weighted blanket, pizza, and reruns of Shark Tank with my husband.
Maybe your plans will involve dinner for two at your own dinner table. Maybe it's a girls night out. Maybe it's a Netflix and Actually Chill situation ποΈ, because you need to be home for your 7pm IVF injection. π
Whatever your plans, all I'm suggesting is to let your mind worry about other things on February 14th. (I would say "don't worry about anything on that day," but please, I've been an infertility patient before, too... I'll never tell anyone to just, "Relaaaax!" π) Instead, tell Valentine's Day it has no place in your stress corner today.
We will not be bothered by reservations or expensive teddy bears holding tiny hearts π. We will not stress about gifts π or bouquets of flowers π.
Will we go out and purchase some chocolate for ourselves? Yep. Will we tell our SOs and best friends that we love them lots? Definitely. Do we need a day of over-priced romanticism to do all that? Absolutely not.
So for those reasons, we're out. π
