At RMA of CT it is our belief that a woman can successfully raise a child on her own and we support every step of the journey - from thinking, to trying, and beyond. We invite you to learn more about our Single Moms To Be Program, staffed with an experienced clinical team to help you with your family building process...including sperm donation, financial decisions and treatment options.
At Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT), we combine modern science and medicine, safe and effective therapies, and highly skilled medical professionals to become your partner on your journey to building your family.
When you choose to work with RMACT to build your family, the first step is a fertility consultation with one of our physicians. Contact us here to schedule a new patient appointment at one of our five conveniently located fertility treatment centers.
Your first visit will likely last between one to one-and-a-half hours. Here is what you can expect:
There are several options for obtaining donor sperm:
Each of our patients is paired with a RMACT financial representative who uses his or her expansive knowledge of medical insurance plans, benefit qualifications for fertility coverage and healthcare financing programs to help make fertility treatment as affordable as possible. Their goal is to find solutions while alleviating some of the stress associated with the finances of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART).
Additionally, many of our single patients who have an infertility diagnosis have benefited from health insurance coverage. An infertility diagnosis is required for insurance coverage. Diagnostic testing and evaluation by our medical team will help to determine a diagnosis and what treatment, if any, is needed.
Becoming a single mother by choice does not happen by making one decision; instead, it is a series of thoughtful decisions. Many mothers to-be find it helpful to speak with a licensed and experienced therapist who has worked with other single mothers when making these decisions. Here at RMACT, we have each single mother-to-be schedule an appointment with Director of Mental Health Services, Lisa Schuman or Melissa Kelleher, LCSW to discuss various short and long-term issues related to creating a child with donor sperm. RMACT wants you to be informed and comfortable with the unique emotional, social and psychological issues that arise when a child is created with donor sperm. Both Lisa and Melissa can help you answer questions such as:
These may not be easy questions to answer. That is why we created our Single Moms To Be program, where you can find trusted, reliable and well-vetted information about becoming a single mother by choice
To provide additional support, we have created the Integrated Fertility and Wellness Program (IFW). Our goal is to relieve some of the stress you may feel associated with fertility treatment.
