We Remember | MLK's Dream Blog Feature

Thank you, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Your foresight, vision of the world seeing all children, all people, based on their character, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character” will live forever.

Our CEO, Robin Mangieri, shares a quote with us that resonates with her...

Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.

                                                                          -Martin Luther King Jr.

“I have a dream” has become an iconic phrase that has immeasurable depth- it’s vast.

And it’s become personal as well, for many of us. Of course I say this with all due respect for Dr. King and with recognition of his intentions for these words as they pertained to a very specific cause. So it is with the utmost admiration and respect that I say, I have a dream too.

That reproductive disease was recognized as not only a medical problem, but as problem that brings generations of families to a screeching stop. We want to see infertility treated as the life changing problem that it is.

I have a wish too- I wish that Dr. King had been alive to help raise his children, to have continued to add to the voice of the nation and the world, to have been influential in changes that haven’t occurred or been slower than any of us would have liked. Who knows what our world would be like had he not been killed at such a young age?

Today, we honor the life and courage of one of the greatest men our country’s ever seen. We’re honoring his specific dream and also, his ability to dream, in acknowledging our own dreams.
