RMACT Patients Have New System to Make Fertility Treatment Easier

This week at Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT), we rolled out a new management system which may have caused a delay at the front desk, regardless of which office space you were in (Trumbull, Stamford, Danbury or Norwalk).This new system is far reaching in terms of patient services and will be most visible to you, at this point, at check-in and check-out.

fertility-patient-supportIt is designed for better patient experiences in our practice and like any new system, there are adjustments that are being made as we learn. Our RMACT team is using their considerable skill and is catching on quickly, as we expected.

Still, there are differences. Yes, we do know you. Sometimes quite well, even on a first name basis. So why are we asking for your license and insurance card again? Because we need it. Please bear with us, we may even ask again tomorrow morning. We did not allow information from our previous system to be transferred to this new system in order to protect your health and billing privacy. We are crossing every "t" and dotting every "i" to ensure accuracy in all our records.

We switched to this Athena system because it is well-known, well-established and proven to be as secure in the healthcare industry. Your healthcare and billing information has been and remains secure. Eventually, it will offer you more than has previously been available– a way to coordinate both your clinical and billing records.

Robin Mangieri, RMACT’s Chief Executive Officer, states “Athena’s national, live product will allow more efficient check in’s and check out’s as well as an easy to use interface with clinical records. Ease of administrative procedures will mean more emphasis on personal and professional attention given to patients which has always been our focus.”

For the next several weeks as the RMACT team members become more acquainted with these new procedures, we appreciate your patience. Please remember that each RMACT team member is now doing their job plus learning a new way of doing it. We all know what that can be like.

About Lisa Rosenthal

Lisa has over thirty years of experience in the fertility field. After her personal infertility journey, she felt dissatisfied with the lack of comprehensive services available to support her. She was determined to help others undergoing fertility treatment. Lisa has been with RMACT for eleven years and serves as Patient Advocate and the Strategic Content Lead.

Lisa is the teacher and founder of Fertile Yoga, a program designed to support men and women on their quest for their families through gentle movement and meditation.

Lisa’s true passion is supporting patients getting into treatment, being able to stay in treatment and staying whole and complete throughout the process. Lisa is also a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, which is helpful in her work with fertility patients.

Her experience also includes working with RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association and The American Fertility Association (now Path2Parenthood), where she was Educational Coordinator, Conference Director and Assistant Executive Director.
