PathtoFertility – Compassionate Support on Your Journey Through Infertility Treatment

pathtofertility-blog-infertilityYou can see it.

PathtoFertility has a new look. Over four years ago, Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT) gave in to the begging that I had done for almost three years to write a blog.

It wasn’t that there was real resistance to our website having a blog. It was just that RMACT offered so many other fertility and wellness services to patients and non-patients already. Services beyond the excellent clinical, scientific and medical care of board certified reproductive endocrinologists, that included nutrition counseling and support, laser and traditional acupuncture, mental health counseling, peer and professionally led support groups, grocery tours, PCOS programs, Fertile Yoga and more.

Why Was a Blog Necessary?

I felt strongly that there were men and women that we were not reaching. Men and women who needed help and support from the very beginning; when realizing that pregnancy was not occurring as it should, to getting into a fertility consultation, to hearing a diagnosis (or not), to fertility treatment and beyond. Men and women who were not coming outside of their homes quite yet and perhaps just needed to know that they weren’t alone and that there was help available.

Luckily, Dr’s Mark Leondires, Spencer Richlin and Joshua Hurwitz agreed to let me run with it. With the help and support of Robin Mangieri and CarbonFoot Interactive, PathtoFertility launched, with its mission statement in place; to support men and women on their path to fertility and creating their families. Our message? Hope. And knowing that we are here with you and for you.

It’s been my joy and pleasure to work on the PathtoFertility blogs. Over 1,000 of them. Some days the blogs are here to educate, some days to ask questions, some days to make you laugh, always to make you think. It’s easy to write this blog because I remember very clearly how it was to not have a baby when I was ready and wanted to. I remember quite clearly how it felt, wondering if I ever would have children. I’m honored to teach Fertile Yoga and take part in Ladies Night In and so I speak with men and women all the time who are in the midst of some of these feelings. Some things have not changed about infertility and fertility treatment. It can be scary because it might not work. It can feel isolating because sharing with friends and family isn’t always easy or helpful. It can feel shaming because we feel that this is something our bodies should be able to do, naturally.

PathtoFertility – Made for You

The primary purpose of this blog is to support you. To love you. To tell you that you are a whole person, despite having these difficulties. To let you know that you are not alone and that we understand how difficult and challenging it can be to go through this.

Some things have changed and we want to make it even easier for you. And so PathtoFertility looks different. More importantly, it will function differently. It will be easier to navigate. It will be easier to find information that you are looking for, the specific blogs that you want to read. We will have guest bloggers on a regular basis. (If you have a story that you want to share, please contact me at FertileYoga@gmail.com) It’s PathtoFertility all grown up.

I hope that you all like the new look as much as we do. I hope that you find it easier to navigate and that you like the changes we have made to that end. We also hope that you find PathtoFertility the same source of support that it’s been for over four years.

Most of all? I hope that you like that we haven’t changed why PathtoFertility exists.

To keep you company as you build your family. To give you hope. A laugh. Information.

To hold your hand as you walk along your path to becoming a parent.
