Infertility – An Individual Journey You Don't Have to Experience Alone

infertility-treatmentIf you have not had a chance to check out RMACT’s new website, here’s a little taste. Since today is Medical Monday here on PathtoFertility, I thought I would more formally introduce our redesign.

Even though I was involved in the redesign, I was still surprised and delighted by what I found.

For instance, “You’ll probably notice along your path to fertility that the terms “infertility treatment” and “fertility treatment” are used almost interchangeably. Whatever term you choose, the goal is the same: the fulfillment of your dreams of pregnancy and parenthood.”

Your Infertility Story

That’s what this new design is about, your story. Your journey.

And the goal being the same.

Having the baby you are dreaming about.

Does language matter?

You bet it does.

Does how you see yourself matter?

Without a question, it does.

Do you get to define yourself, even within having trouble conceiving?

Simply, yes. You absolutely do.

This is your story.

And, as always, we are here to help. ~ Lisa Rosenthal

What is Infertility?

Infertility is a condition or disorder of the reproductive system that affects both women and men. Better referred to as “sub-fertility” as so often, with help, you will be able to have the family you are hoping for. Once the cause of an individual’s or couple’s infertility has been pinpointed and a diagnosis has been made, fertility treatments can begin.

You’ll probably notice along your path to fertility that the terms “infertility treatment” and “fertility treatment” are used almost interchangeably. Whatever term you choose, the goal is the same: the fulfillment of your dreams of pregnancy and parenthood.

Simple to advanced fertility treatment options are more numerous and varied than ever. A host of advanced assisted reproductive technologies, as well as other support services including (acupuncturefertility counseling, Fertile Yoga and our nutrition program) provide you with everything you need to be successful in building your family.

Infertility Treatment Programs in CT & NY

At RMACT, choosing the best fertility treatment option(s) for you is done in consultation with one of our board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologists (fertility specialists) after taking into consideration the possible cause of your infertility, how long you’ve been trying to conceive, your age and that of your partner, and your own personal preferences.

Even though not all causes of infertility can be corrected, pregnancy can still be achieved. RMACT offers a full range of assisted reproductive technology and other procedures to restore fertility including:

IUI Program – IUI, or intrauterine insemination, (also referred to as artificial insemination) involves placing a concentrated semen sample in the uterine cavity to improve the chances of conception.

IVF Program – During the in vitro fertilization (IVF) process, eggs are removed from the woman’s body and combined with sperm in the laboratory to create embryos, which are then transferred into the woman’s uterus.

Egg Donation Program – Women who are unable to conceive and carry a pregnancy to term due to an unresolved medical issue can be helped through RMACT’s Egg Donation Program, which matches these women (egg recipients) with women who are willing to donate their eggs (egg donors).

Gestational Carriers | Surrogates – Gestational carriers (also known as surrogates) are women who offer an alternative approach to parenthood by carrying a baby to term for another person. There is no genetic link between the gestational carrier and the child she is carrying.

Integrated Fertility & Wellness Program – The RMACT Integrated Fertility and Wellness Program was created to relieve some of the stress related to infertility treatment. The services offered complement the medical treatments we provide and include professionally and peer led support groups, fertility counseling for individuals and couples, Fertile Yoga and both traditional and laser acupuncture.

Nutrition Program – Good nutrition is a vital building block of a healthy lifestyle and can lay the groundwork for a successful pregnancy. RMACT provides individual nutritional support and resources as well as interactive nutrition seminars as part of our comprehensive approach to infertility treatment.

Fertility Surgeries – Sometimes infertility caused by a structural problem can be treated surgically to increase the chances of conception. Same-day, office-based surgery is another treatment option available at RMACT.
