Dr. Mark Leondires | Top CT Fertility DoctorLast night I was honored to be able to go and see Dr. Mark Leondires, Medical Director for Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT) accept the Joyce M. Vargyas Visionary Award from Path2Parenthood.

Dr. Leondires does not want me to drone on and on here about his accomplishments. Or his vision. He would certainly prefer that I not. What I will say, even at the risk of embarrassing him, is that visionary is a word that describes him well.

He created the type of practice that he envisioned thirteen years ago. He knew what he wanted for each and every patient who walked in his door– a place where they felt accepted and a place where they could justifiably feel hope about having the family that they were dreaming of.

Fertility Doctor Dr. Mark Leondires Receives Visionary Award

Dr. Leondires Receives Visionary AwardI was honored to be able to see Dr. Leondires accept his award last night. He deserves it. I know that because for the last eight years I’ve personally seen his dedication to treating patients as whole and complete human beings. So while last night was more than lovely, the reality of working today, for him and for RMACT, is equally as lovely. Tonight, Carrie Van Steen and I will spend time with a group of women at Ladies Night In. This is a peer support group that is offered by RMACT. Free and open the public.

Why free and open to the public? Because it’s the right thing to do. To offer services and support to those who need it. Even if they aren’t patients of RMACT’s practice.

A small example of why Dr. Leondires received a Visionary Award last night.

A big vision.

A big heart.

A wonderful doctor, father, husband, employer and human being. ~ Lisa Rosenthal

Path2Parenthood Honors Mark Leondires, MD for His Contributions In the Fertility Field

Dr. Mark Leondires, a Board Certified reproductive endocrinologist and partner at Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut, has helped thousands of patients become parents.

Path2Parenthood (formerly The American Fertility Association) recognized Mark Leondires, M.D., for his contributions and work with patients at the organization’s annual "Illuminations" fundraising gala in New York City last night. Dr. Leondires received the Joyce M. Vargyas, M.D. Visionary Award, which celebrates the work of individuals and organizations who have made a positive impact in the fields of fertility, reproductive health, and family building.

Don Hribek, a colleague in the infertility field who has known Dr. Leondires for over 20 years, presented the honorary award in a room filled with the infertility field’s most distinguished professionals, saying: “The Dr. Joyce M. Vargas Visionary award was conceived to honor an individual who exemplified her innovation, visionary patient care, faced and overcame challenges and adversity to assist people in creating families… She would be thrilled with our honoree tonight because he practices medicine in ways very similar to her.”

Since Dr. Leondires established Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT) 13 years ago, the practice has become a leader in the infertility field with some of the most successful ongoing pregnancy rates in the country. Dr. Leondires is known throughout the infertility field for his whole-patient approach. RMACT is a comprehensive fertility practice that offers cutting-edge medical treatment, as well as emotional support, yoga classes, acupuncture, nutrition counseling and patient workshops. These services are part of Dr. Leondires’ mission to bring fertility success to everyone. RMACT has a robust program for patients seeking help for primary and secondary infertility, fertility preservation and family building options for the LGBTQ community.

“People dream about one day starting a family; nobody dreams about one day seeing a fertility specialist,” says Dr. Leondires, who has his own personal fertility story that includes working with two gestational carriers for his two sons. “But from the moment a patient walks through my practice door, I want to provide them with things they didn’t even know they needed: knowledge, hope and support. That’s how we achieve fertility success.”
