March of Dimes - March for Babies this Weekend

march of dimes march for babiesI had a blog all ready to go for today. Look for it next week, it's on wasting time productively. It's a great concept, especially for dealing with infertility and fertility treatment.

But today, I'm all about the March of Dimes walk this weekend in Danbury. I know I blogged about it yesterday and so could have skipped today. Truly though, it's a very meaningful day of the year for me. I believe it's a topic that is very close to the hearts of those of us struggling with infertility.

Pregnant After Fertility Treatment - Prenatal Yoga Classmates' Comments

An example? Last night's prenatal yoga class was full of beautiful post fertility treatment pregnant women. They were gorgeous and open hearted and happy. And they each had their edge of worry. Were their babies going to go to term? Did fertility treatment cause low birth weight babies or early labor? Was everything ok between those ridiculously long time periods to see their obstetricians? Happy, thrilled mommys to be, yes. But not without their worries. And not without some legitimate worries, not everything in pregnancy goes as planned. They worry when they don't feel their babies move. They worry when they exercise too much or too little or in the wrong way. They worry they are not sleeping enough or that the stress that they feel is going to effect their babies. They are enjoying their pregnancies, absolutely. And they are also worrying.

Infertility does that to you. It is a huge wake up call that things don't always go right. That things that are supposed to be "normal and natural" don't always go smoothly, normally or naturally. We know that things happen even when they aren't expected and odds be dammed, unfortunately.

Healthy Pregnancy Support By Walking Together

That's why I'm walking on Sunday. To send healthy pregnancy, baby and family thoughts to our courageous mommys and daddys to be. It takes courage to know that things can and do go wrong and go ahead anyway. I'm walking to send love to you all out there who are hoping and planning and trying to create your healthy families.

My dream? To see you there. To walk with your babies or walk with me with your hopes for your babies to come.

Would love to see you there on Sunday.
