How to Pick A Fertility Treatment Center

RMA CT Fertility DoctorsI get asked the question all the time. How do I pick an IVF program? Or, how do I pick a fertility treatment center?

Many of us prefer to use a medical referral from an OB/Gyn. A lot of us listen to our friends and hear word of mouth what their experiences are like. We see ads in local papers and hear radio spots.

There are lots of ways to pick a fertility center.

Checking SART (Society for Assisted Reproducitve Technology) and the CDC (Assisted Reproductive Technology) reports about pregnancy rates is a regulated, reported, reliable way of seeing how the clinic you are considering is performing. By the way, try finding that kind of information about almost any other medical group.

Finally, here at RMACT, we quietly go about doing a really good job. Read below what makes us stand out from other area programs. That's in addition to our five board certified reproductive endocrinologists, four convenient locations, excellent lab and clinicians. Not to mention our Integrated and Fertility Wellness Program which includes acupuncture, nutrition, massage, mind/body program, mental health professionals, peer support and Fertile Yoga.

Yep, there's a reason that I love where I work and who I work with and it starts with the committment to excellence that every team member at RMACT has. ~ Lisa Rosenthal

Choosing a quality fertility center is essential to having a successful outcome. At Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT), we’re all about quality treatment and quality outcomes. RMACT receives the highest quality designation by major health plans in Connecticut. In addition, RMACT is one of just 11 leading In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) centers nationwide chosen by In Vitro Sciences to participate in its Centers of Excellence program.

The First CT IVF Practice with the Highest Designation

RMACT is honored to be the first IVF practice in Connecticut that has been invited to join the highest designation of Quality IVF Centers’ from major national health plans including United Centers of Excellence (NYSGE), Aetna and Oxford Health Plans a United Healthcare Group (administered by Optum Health).

RMACT was chosen by these select payors for their Center of Excellence or Institute of Excellence designation based on the practice’s commitment to continuous improvement, exceptional value for members and proven clinical outcomes reported to SART.

Contact your health plan directly to verify benefits and to inquire about specific requirements as you visit RMACT as a national Center of Excellence or Institute of Excellence program participant.

In Vitro Sciences Centers of Excellence Program

RMACT is one of just 11 leading In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) centers nationwide chosen by In Vitro Sciences to participate in its Centers of Excellence program. Selection into this exclusive group is based on key measures of success that evaluate a center’s experience level or volume, its overall live birth rate and its low triplets-or-higher birth rate.

The Center of Excellence distinction indicates that RMACT meets the highest national standards for clinical fertility and laboratory services. And, all fertility doctors at our fertility centers are board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Partnering with In Vitro Sciences places RMACT among the top 25 percent of fertility centers in the country and gives our patients access to the highest level of treatment available, improving their chances of building a family.

As an In Vitro Sciences Center of Excellence, RMACT is a member of and reports its success rates to the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), under the auspices of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). RMACT’s IVF laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and meets standards established by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA). In addition to offering access to premiere fertility care, the In Vitro Sciences Centers of Excellence program also enables RMACT to provide patients who lack adequate infertility coverage access to special financing for advanced procedures.

These include Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) cycles using donor eggs or sperm. Eligible patients can choose to pay for one cycle at a time or, if undergoing IVF, a multiple cycle refund program called the IVF Financial Share Program. RMACT is proud to be an In Vitro Sciences Center of Excellence serving Fairfield, New Haven and Litchfield Counties in Connecticut as well as Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties in New York. Please contact us for more information about what the In Vitro Sciences Center of Excellence program can mean to you on your path to fertility.
