Fertility Nutrition Program

The Fertility Nutrition Program will help you understand the link between dietary choices, weight and fertility. Our specialists will help to develop individualized plans that cater to your dietary needs, to ensure your body gets the necessary nutrients to conceive.

Our Fertility Nutrition Program also addresses the needs of women with endocrine disorders such as insulin resistance, Diabetes Type1/Type 2 and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Our specialists will provide you with nutritional insight and strategies to help improve symptoms associated with these conditions.

RMACT's PCOS Clinic is one of a handful of options for patients in Connecticut to learn how to manage this condition. At the clinic, you learn how to take control of this frustrating metabolic condition, which causes hormonal imbalances, preventing women from ovulating and leading to infertility. It is a common condition, affecting 5 - 10% of women of reproductive age, and is best managed through lifestyle changes such as improved quality of sleep, activity and structured meals.

Fertility Nutritionist

The Fertility Nutrition program is headed by Carolyn Gundell M.S. Carolyn has over 20 years of experience with endocrine disorders such as:

  • Insulin resistance
  • Diabetes Type1/Type 2
  • PCOS

Carolyn's role includes educating patients about nutrition, developing individualized meal plans for patients, implementing RMACT's PCOS Clinic and presenting nutrition seminars. The seminars encourage open discussion and are open to the public.

Carolyn earned her M.S. in Nutrition from Columbia University, and completed her undergraduate studies in Biology/Nutrition at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT. Carolyn is trained as a Research Associate in Clinical Skills Training, and is certified in HIPAA, CPR, First Aid and Food Safety & Sanitation.
